Road to Grammar on Instagram

Every day, I post at least one "word of the day" for English learners, usually with several examples.

For instance, here is today's post:







As you can see, "grasp" is a pretty interesting word. Firstly, it means "hold tightly", but it can also mean to understand something. Exactly, it means to fully understand something.

Can you see the connection between the two meanings? It's as if you "hold something tightly" in your mind, when you grasp it.
