New Game: Drop Two

Here is a new game for ESL learners, called Drop Two. This game is especially good for ELEMENTARY level learners, as all the words are quite simple.

The aim of the game is to remove two letters from the row to form a word that matches the clue. For example, below we can remove the letters G and V to form BLUE.

Play the game here:

BING BONG: New Word Game

Road to Grammar is pleased to announce a new word game: BING BONG. You can play it here:

www.roadtogrammar.com/bingbong

Or get it for your Android device here:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flashbynight.bingbong

This is a simple game very well-suited to ESL Learners. You are given a five-letter word but only shown the first and last letters. You have to guess the middle letters each from a set of two options:

You win when you guess the complete word. You get between 10-100 points depending on how many tries you needed. You get an additional 200-point bonus after every five rounds. You get a chance to view the meaning each word you guess.

As you finish more levels, you will get longer words and you will need to beat a timer. Why not see if you can get a high score?

This game can be played on a smartphone or tablet. If you are looking for a more challenging version (not recommended for ESL learners), try the original version here: www.flashbynight.com/rabbip

Chopped! - a new word game

It's time for a brand new word game on Road To Grammar.

In Chopped, the player is given a set of eight letters and you need to cut the letters out in such a way that they form a word of three letters or more. You'll need to be fast to beat the timer, which goes faster every round. You get bonuses for longer words or for finding a word quickly.

Chopped should work really well as a class game on a smartboard. Try it now while it's still easy to get a high score!
